Early Years Festival
The Early Years Festival is a new initiative addressed to families with very young children. The Early Years Festival is a wide-ranging family artistic event, focusing on creating friendly, safe, and creative encounters with art. It is also a space for the exchange of thoughts and energy, focusing on proposals addressed to professionals interested in developing a workshop for creative work with children.
Together with our audience, we want to discover new approaches to togetherness, expand cognitive boundaries, provide artistic experiences, create conditions for deepening relationships and creative development.
We would like to meet regularly with our viewers, both in theatres and in their homes. By observing all the safety rules and listening to the needs of our audience, we want to build and rebuild relationships for whom contact with art can be soothing and strengthening.
The first edition of this event took place in July 2021 and was fully live! The repertoire was made up of three program paths:
The 15th edition of the International Festival of Art for Early Years “SZTUKA SZUKA MALUCHA”, organized by ART FRACTION FOUNDATION from the funds of the City of Poznań.
MAPPING FESTIVAL organized by ANIMATION THEATRE in POZNAŃ as part of the project “Mapping. A map on the aesthetics of performing arts for early years” from the funds of the “Creative Europe” program.
“SMYKA MUZYKA” organized by the Children's Art Centre in Poznań.
Performances from Poland and Europe (Spain, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany), as well as concerts and music events, were shown together. We also met with the audience during workshops, creative campaigns, master classes, and conferences. The program was built around events targeted at families with children aged 0-5 years, and also professionals.
The next part of this year's edition of the festival is filled with autumn events, during which we once again invited viewers to the spaces of the Animation Theatre to watch performances for kids in their early years. This part of the project is already being implemented in a hybrid formula - stage events are accompanied by workshops, radio plays, and performances presented online, in compliance with all the safety rules related to the exposure of young children to digital screens.
The project "Early Years Festival" is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage, and Sports.
The Festival's partners are Small Size Network and Zamek Culture Centre in Poznań.
The “Sztuka Szuka Malucha” project was initiated by the Children's Art Centre in Poznań in 2006. In 2014-2019, the Festival was organized jointly by the Centre and the Art Fraction Foundation. In the years 2020-2021, “Sztuka Szuka Malucha” was carried out independently by the Art Fraction Foundation.
